Camp Magruder: Winter, Spring & Summer Breaks for Elementary Schoolers

Enriching out-of-school programs for children in Kindergarten through 5th Grade

 
The Department of Community Services provides Camp Magruder as an out-of-school program for children. Camp Magruder meets during the Prince George's County Public School breaks for winter, spring and summer. All our camp programs combine sports, arts, other organized activities, and general free-play. 

Upcoming dates for the 2017-2018 academic year are as follows: 


No School Day: Friday, October 20, 2017 and Friday, February 9, 2018
Winter Break: Tuesday, December 26 through Friday, December 29, 2016
Spring Break: Monday, April 2  through Friday, April 6, 2017

Mini Camp Magruder:

 Friday, October 20, 2017 and Friday, February 9, 2018
 
Mini Camp Magruder is single day camp program for when Prince George's County Public Schools are out. Each camp day will focus on a theme, such as science, sports, cooking, art or music. Camp will also include general free-play, with other organized activities. 

The cost of registering your camper is $30 each day.
Camp hours are from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. 



Camp Magruder Winter 2017


Tuesday, December 26  through Friday December 29, 2017

Registration for Camp Magruder Winter 2017 will open Wednesday, October 25, 2017. 

The cost of registering your camper is $30 per day.  
Camp hours each day are from 8:00 a.m. to 6 p.m.


Camp Magruder Spring 2018


Monday, April 2 through Friday, April 6, 2018
Hours of camp are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. .

Registration opens for City of Hyattsville residents on January 17, 2018.  
Non residents may register starting January 24, 2018.

​Camp Fees:


 Type of Care  Fee per Camper, Per Session
 Weeklong (Resident)  $125
 Weeklong (Non-Resident)  $150
 
Camper who receive free or reduced lunch, and live within the City of Hyattsville may receive financial assistance upon proof of eligibility. Eligible campers fee for Spring Camp is $100 for the week. 


Camp Magruder Summer 2018

Each camp session meets Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. for two weeks at a time. Camp program combines arts, sports and general free-play. Campers will visit the Hamilton Splash Park once a week, attend a field trip once per session and participate in a number of other planned activities.

Registration:
Registration opens for City of Hyattsville residents on February 7, 2018.
Non residents may register starting  February 21, 2018.


Camp Fees:


Type of Care Fee Per Camper, Per Session   
Full Day (Resident) $250/session
Full Day (Non-Resident) $300/session


Registering more than one Camper? A $50 sibling discount is available to each additional camper.

Camper who receive free or reduced lunch, and live within the City of Hyattsville may receive financial assistance upon proof of eligibility. Eligible campers fee for Summer camp is $200 per session.

​Deposit

There is a $50 nonrefundable deposit due per session 48 hours upon receipt of invoice. An invoice will be emailed within 48 hours after submitting registration. The deposit(s) will be applied to the overall cost of each session. If a deposit is not made your camper may be in jeopardy of losing their placement.
